Fan Options

Line shafts:

In rare instances a vertical line shaft is used to transmit power to different levels while a horizontal line shaft can transmit power where the horizontal run is too long for a belt or if it is required to pass into another room.  These shafts can be ordered at different lengths and installed in either the “L” bracket or hand line shaft holders. The “L” bracket holders can be easily adjusted while the hand brackets may have to be “shimmed” on site to insure the shaft runs smoothly. In either case the pulley needs to be within a few inches of the bearing to prevent the shaft from bending. The vertical motor mounts may be used as one of the bearing holders in a vertical line shaft arrangement to drive the system.

Idlers:

The following fan bodies are used as idlers where a fan is not desired but the distance between the fans is over 20ft or the layout requires the belt to make a turn, The Rhea, Emu, Cassowary, Egret and Martin. An idler consists of the fan body, 2 pulleys and shaft without the blades or hub. Wall idlers are available with the hand mount or the “L” bracket in order to run the belt around obstacles or around corners in the room.
